7 Seasonal Job Ideas During the Holidays

During the holiday season, expenses can add up easily but you know what?  This is also a good time to make some money.

Thanks to a number of seasonal job opportunities that can be taken advantage around Christmas time.  If this is your first time to look for a seasonal job, here are 7 job opportunities that you can apply for this holiday season.

1. Retail

Of course, this should be number 1 on the list.  Department stores are your go-to places if you want to look for a seasonal job during the Holiday season – from working at the register to stocking shelves and a lot more.  Job listings can be found online so make sure to check out the sites of major department stores such as Macy’s, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Toys R Us, Bloomingdales and JCPenney.

2. Customer Service Representatives

If you want to work from home, companies such as Amazon and 1-800-Flowers, hire seasonal customer service associates to help answer customer’s queries, complaints and facilitate orders made.

3. Package Handlers

Package delivery companies need bigger and stronger workforce to handle packages this holiday season.  Last year, more than 50,000 seasonal workers were hired by UPS and FedEx during the holiday season so make sure to check online.

4. Drivers and Driver Helpers

Both companies are also hiring drivers and driver handlers.  You don’t need to have a commercial driver’s license but a professional driving experience is required.

5. Restaurant Employee

A lot of restaurants need seasonal hires too in order to accommodate the busy holiday season.  Check out your local restaurants to see if they have a spot for you.  Aside from the hourly wage, you get lots of tips too!

6. Gift Wrap Associate

It’s the season of gift-giving and a lot of customers prefer to have their purchases all wrapped and ready once they leave the store or when delivered to their doorstep.  That’s why a lot of retail companies online and in-stores offer seasonal Gift Wrapping job opportunities during the holidays.  If you have good gift-wrapping skills, attention to detail and efficiency, check out online or your local stores and apply for the position.

7. Santa Claus
